This three-day intensive course is designed to give participants practical experience in utilizing three basic tools that every director should know in order to feel confident in directing drama: Breaking down a Script, Improvisation and Rehearsal Techniques and Cinematic Tools for Scene Impact and Story Pace. This course is designed for emerging directors, including theatre directors, actors, writers, and producers. The course delivery includes introductions of theoretical context for each concept, group exercises which are prefaced with clear objectives, discussions and debriefings which enhance the learning outcomes, and the application of concepts and tools in a progressive, experiential, engaging and insightful way
By the end of this course participants should be able to: + Break down a script, identify character requirements and cast with confidence
