SCREEN DEVELOPMENT (DOCUMENTARY)

We’ve refreshed our documentary guidelines! This program area, along with games and fiction development will now be known collectively as the Screen Development program.

We're still offering two documentary funding strands that support producers, writers and researchers to further develop their projects to become production ready.

Aside from changing the name of this funding strand from factual to documentary, applicants with projects containing Indigenous content must now engage in appropriate consultation with Indigenous communities and advisors.

Strand 1: Early Stage

  • Funding is provided for the development of an outline into a pitching proposal or treatment.
  • Up to $5,000 is available for a single episode television project, up to $10,000 for a television series and up to $10,000 for a documentary feature.

Strand 2: Advanced Stage

  • Funding is provided for the development of a pitching proposal or treatment into a second draft treatment or script, including the option of shooting or editing a video teaser.
  • Up to $15,000 is available for a single episode television project, up to $25,000 for a television series and up to $25,000 for a documentary feature.

The Screen Development - Documentary program strand assists Victorian producers, writers and researchers of documentary projects in the development of quality pitching proposals, treatments or scripts for television and cinema.

Funding is provided at both early and advanced stages of development.
